After a research scientist is murdered for his revolutionary new formula, a new detergent called ‘Cloud 7’ appears on the market, along with an advertising campaign that uses blue plastic carnations given away free with each packet. The flowers contain an unusual scent which proves to be addictive to anyone smelling them. As the nation - including Georgina and Simms - become infatuated with the flowers, Adam smells a rat, and he decides to investigate the manufactures, B.K. Soap. He soon uncovers an unscrupulous plot by the bosses to use this addiction to increase their profits and triple their turnover …
