'Pilot Error' (Story Code '41206') by Edward J. Lakso

Steve is temporarily blinded in an oil line rupture. But as he flies home with Senator Hill, their airplane is forced to make a crash landing in the desert. Faced with the merciless heat of the arid desert Steve desperately attempts to get himself and his fellow passengers back to safety; using his comrades’ sight to help him use his bionic abilities, Steve manages to carry out the necessary repairs. With the aircraft fixed, Steve then uses his superhuman strength to clear a usable a runway, but when the plane takes off and begins its voyage back to civilisation the Senator suddenly blacks out; only Steve can take over the controls to land them safely – but how can he land the plane without the use of his eyes..?
