After an attempt to revive one of the crewmembers results in an accidental death, the remaining humanoids awake; their leader, Captain Zantor, reveals to Commander Koenig that they are peaceful Kaldorians who are en route for Earth. After a cultural exchange takes place, Koenig requests that one member of Alpha accompany the Kaldorians back to Earth inside the now-vacant casket. Zantor agrees, on the condition that the person chosen is to be tested for compatibility with their suspended animation technology. Koenig arranges for the main computer to choose the person who will become the Kaldorians' passenger; however, Commissioner Simmonds decides to break into the power station and threatens to destroy the base and everyone on it unless he is the one that will return home&

Martin Landau (Commander John Koenig), Barbara Bain (Doctor Helena Russell), Barry Morse (Professor Victor Bergman), Prentis Hancock (Paul Morrow), Nick Tate (Captain Alan Carter), Zienia Merton (Sandra Benes), Clifton Jones (David Kano), Anton Phillips (Doctor Bob Mathias), Suzanne Roquette (Tanya Alexander), Christopher Lee (Captain Zantor), Roy Dotrice (Commissioner Gerald Simmonds), June Bolton, Sarah Bullen, Loftus Burton, Andrew Dempsey, Robert Philips (Main Mission Operatives), Tony Allyn, Quentin Pierre (Security Guards), Rhonda Parker (Female Kaldorian)

Directed by Charles Crichton
Produced by Sylvia Anderson
Series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson

TX:
UK (ATV Midlands):
December 4th, 1975

Notes:
*Featuring Commander John Koenig, Doctor Helena Russell, Professor Victor Bergman, Paul Morrow, Captain Alan Carter, David Kano, Sandra Benes and Doctor Bob Mathias

*This is the first episode to feature Barry Morse on-screen in the title sequence
