Leaving in an Eagle with a specially adapted laboratory, Koenig is accompanied by Doctor Russell, Maya, Verdeschi, Carter and geologist Dave O'Reilly. On the surface, Reilly explores a cave and discovers a strange glowing rock formation; but when he breaks a piece off for testing, there is a sudden blinding flash of light and Verdeschi is killed. After an analysis shows that the piece of rock is alive, Verdeschi returns to life; in a hypnotic trance he collects another piece of rock and returns with it to the Eagle. The two pieces immediately fuse together, communications with Alpha are lost and the Eagle is immobilised. With mounting horror, Koenig and the others realise that they have been lured there under false indications of Milgonite; the rock must have water to survive - and the human body is mostly water...

Martin Landau (Commander John Koenig), Barbara Bain (Doctor Helena Russell), Catherine Schell (Maya), Tony Anholt (Tony Verdeschi), Nick Tate (Captain Alan Carter), Patrick Mower (Dave Reilly)

Directed by Ray Austin
Produced by Fred Freiberger
Series created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson

TX:
UK (ATV Midlands):
October 28th, 1976

Notes:
*Featuring Commander John Koenig, Doctor Helena Russell, Maya, Tony Verdeschi and Captain Alan Carter
